Andy Cohen and Amy Sedaris recently celebrated a decade of their beloved holiday tradition, SiriusXM’s Radio Andy Holiday Hangout. This two-hour live broadcast, held on December 19th in New York City, featured the dynamic duo answering listener questions and sharing their signature witty banter. The annual event stemmed from Cohen’s initial desire to bring Sedaris onto the airwaves.
“When I launched Radio Andy, Amy was one of the first people I tried to get to do her own radio show,” Cohen, 56, recounted. He described Sedaris, 63, as hilariously spontaneous, but noted that a full radio show commitment was too daunting for her. A one-time holiday special, however, proved to be the perfect fit.

Over the past ten years, the Holiday Hangout has evolved, enduring snowstorms and other challenges to consistently deliver laughter and holiday spirit to fans. Cohen emphasized the unpredictability and humor of their two-hour conversations, saying, “You just never know where the conversation’s gonna go. It’s just a lot of fun.”
The live show, taped at SiriusXM’s Fishbowl studio in Manhattan, draws a dedicated audience from across the country. Fans eagerly participate both in person and via call-in lines, seeking advice on topics ranging from holiday entertaining to relationship dilemmas. Sedaris particularly enjoys addressing relationship questions, especially those involving family dynamics.
“I love doing this show with Andy every year,” Sedaris shared. “It gets you in the Christmas spirit. And I love answering people’s questions.”

Despite his demanding schedule as a father, Real Housewives producer, host of Watch What Happens Live!, and CNN’s New Year’s Eve co-host alongside Anderson Cooper, Cohen finds radio to be a uniquely liberating medium.
“Anything goes,” he explained. He expressed his gratitude for the strong virtual community that Radio Andy has fostered over the past decade, adding, “It’s a place where I can really let go.” The enduring popularity of the Holiday Hangout serves as a testament to the enduring chemistry and comedic brilliance of Cohen and Sedaris.
