Pedro Pascal, renowned for his role in “The Last of Us,” is embracing his superhero persona for Marvel’s upcoming film, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.” The 49-year-old actor was recently seen leaving the gym, showcasing a noticeably leaner physique after completing filming for his role as Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic.
Pascal’s transformation is a testament to the physical demands of portraying the iconic elastic superhero. In the film, Reed Richards acquires his extraordinary abilities alongside Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm after exposure to cosmic rays during a space mission.
Recent photos captured Pascal sporting a casual black T-shirt and black basketball shorts, highlighting his toned physique. Filming for “First Steps” took place from late July to late November 2024 at Pinewood Studios in London, with additional scenes shot in Oviedo, Spain.

The official cast announcement came via Marvel Studios’ social media channels in February 2024. The announcement post featured an illustration of the actors in a relaxed setting, accompanied by a “Happy Valentine’s Day” message, solidifying the team as Marvel’s First Family.
Alongside Pascal, the cast includes Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (The Thing). The ensemble, along with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and director Matt Shakman, made an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con to generate excitement for the film. Pascal affectionately referred to his co-stars as his “new family.”
