Jonathan Scott, one half of the Property Brothers duo, recently showcased his impressive collection of nutcrackers, a festive “obsession” he’s cultivated over the years. In a YouTube video touring his Los Angeles home, shared with fiancée Zooey Deschanel, Scott revealed the extent of his holiday decor passion.
“For those of you who know me well, you probably already know what my holiday decor obsession is,” Scott teases in the video posted on the Drew and Jonathan YouTube channel. “Anybody? Anybody? That would be nutcrackers.” He proudly declares, “I have so many, all different sizes. I’ve been collecting them for years and years.”

The video then pans across a multitude of nutcrackers, showcasing their variety in size and design. Scott playfully jokes, “Do I have names for every single one of them? Don’t worry about it,” before admitting with a chuckle, “Yes, I do.”
Scott’s collection reflects his diverse heritage, boasting Scottish and classic nutcrackers, alongside some “blinged out” versions. Among this festive army, a miniature Canadian Mountie nutcracker named Gord holds a special place in his heart. “Which nutcracker is my favorite nutcracker? That is hard to say…but this is Gord, my Canadian nutcracker, and he’s pretty awesome. It’s not the size that matters, it’s the spirit.”

Growing up in Canada with Scottish ancestry, these figurines represent a personal connection to his roots. This year’s newest addition, a handmade, rhinestone-encrusted creation from Glitterville Studios, stands out as the “crown jewel” of the collection. Scott plans to place this dazzling piece near their largest Christmas tree, a favorite spot for him and Deschanel.

Scott and Deschanel, who got engaged in August 2023, share a love for elaborate Christmas decorating. Scott revealed in a November interview that their Christmas tree and festive lights were already up, emphasizing the joy it brings to Deschanel’s children, Elsie and Charlie. He stated that creating a festive atmosphere for the kids outweighs any criticism about decorating “too early.”

“I love seeing the kids get excited about the decorations going up — anything that makes the kids laugh and smile and brings them joy,” Scott shared. His nutcracker collection, a testament to his festive spirit, undoubtedly contributes to the holiday magic in their home.
