Jonathan Bennett, known for his role in the iconic movie Mean Girls, expressed his desire to reunite with co-stars Lindsay Lohan and Lacey Chabert for a Christmas film. The actor believes a holiday movie featuring the trio would resonate with fans of both Mean Girls and the Christmas movie genre.
Bennett highlighted the shared theme of happiness and joy between Mean Girls and Christmas films, stating that both offer viewers an escape and a feel-good experience. He emphasized the connection between the fan bases, noting that both appreciate stories that uplift and inspire.
“There’s a huge connection between the fan base of Mean Girls and the fan base of Christmas movies. These are people that want to turn on a movie and feel happier and walk away feeling better,” Bennett explained. “I think that’s what these movies do.”
He further emphasized the natural fit of a Christmas project featuring the Mean Girls alumni, saying, “So to have Lindsay Lohan and Lacey Chabert and I all starring in different Christmas movies, I think is perfectly on brand and on target for what we like to do as actors and storytellers, which is bring joy to people, period.”
Bennett’s call for a reunion movie comes as all three actors have recently been involved in holiday-themed projects. He stars in Hallmark’s Season’s Greetings from Cherry Lane, while Lohan leads Netflix’s Falling for Christmas and Our Little Secret, and Chabert stars in Netflix’s Hot Frosty.
Interestingly, Hot Frosty includes a meta moment where Chabert’s character watches a scene from Falling for Christmas and comments on the resemblance between Lohan’s character and someone she knew in high school, a clever nod to their shared Mean Girls history.

The success of Mean Girls, coupled with the actors’ individual holiday film ventures, fuels Bennett’s belief that a combined Christmas project would be a hit with audiences. He posed the question, “When do we get to combine it and do a movie for Christmas with Lacey Chabert, me and Lindsay Lohan?” He concluded by expressing his conviction that such a movie “would make so many people happy.” All three films mentioned, Mean Girls, Season’s Greetings from Cherry Lane, Hot Frosty, and Our Little Secret are currently available for streaming.
