Lindsay Hubbard’s Post-Baby Life: Balancing Motherhood, *Summer House*, and Living Arrangements

Lindsay Hubbard, star of Bravo’s Summer House, welcomed her first child, daughter Gemma, with her boyfriend on December 8th. The new mom partnered with Jimmy John’s, even enjoying a Vito sandwich in the delivery room after giving birth. However, Hubbard’s living situation has raised eyebrows among her friends and fans.

The season 9 trailer for Summer House features a conversation between Hubbard and her friend Danielle Olivera, where Olivera expresses concern about Hubbard not living with her boyfriend while raising their newborn. Olivera worries that Hubbard might feel like she’s “single momming it up.”

Hubbard clarified in an interview with PEOPLE that she and Olivera discussed the situation further after filming that scene. Olivera ultimately understood Hubbard’s perspective. Hubbard recounted telling Olivera, “First of all, two years ago you’re telling me I’m moving too fast. Now you’re pushing me to move in before I’m ready.”

Hubbard confirmed that she and her boyfriend, whose identity remains private, still maintain separate residences. However, he’s been a constant presence in her life and Gemma’s since the birth. “He has spent the night and has been by my side 24/7 for the entire past month,” Hubbard shared. She described her apartment as their “HQ” and explained that her boyfriend practically lives there, bringing clothes and toiletries, only occasionally returning to his own apartment.

Hubbard’s decision to not rush into cohabitation stems from her desire to avoid adding unnecessary pressure to their relatively new relationship. Getting pregnant a few months into dating was already a significant life change. “If there’s anything that I’ve learned from my past, especially in my last relationship, it’s that nothing is guaranteed,” she stated. Adding moving in to the mix felt like an unnecessary burden.

While they aren’t living together yet, moving in is a topic of conversation. Hubbard’s lease expires in June, prompting discussions about school districts and Gemma’s future education.

For now, Hubbard is focused on enjoying a quiet holiday season at home with her newborn. Travel and large gatherings are on hold until Gemma receives her vaccinations at two months old. Despite the sleep deprivation that comes with being a new parent, Hubbard says she feels “great” and overwhelmed with love for her daughter.

Hubbard’s pregnancy journey will be documented in the upcoming season of Summer House. This season marks a positive shift for Hubbard, who found previous seasons difficult to watch due to her tumultuous relationship with then-fiancé Carl Radke, which ended in a broken engagement. She expressed excitement about reliving her pregnancy on screen and hopes for a positive and exciting season. Summer House season 9 premieres on Bravo on February 12th at 9 p.m. ET.
