Tony Hawk’s Commitment to Health Fuels His Skateboarding Passion

Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, at 56, continues to defy expectations, maintaining an active lifestyle both on and off the board. However, his approach to skateboarding has evolved, prioritizing health and well-being.

“I used to skate until I was completely exhausted and almost sick,” Hawk explains. “Now, I skate just as much, if not more, and I feel energized.” This shift stems from a conscious decision to balance his passion with a healthier lifestyle, prompted by a crucial health realization.

Hawk acknowledges his family history of heart problems, citing his father’s struggles with severe heart issues and multiple heart attacks. Recognizing a similar genetic predisposition, Hawk made significant changes. “I try to promote things that I actually use and believe in,” he says, emphasizing his partnership with heart supplement Qunol Ultra CoQ10.

A decade ago, blood work revealed high cholesterol and blood pressure concerning for his age. This prompted a lifestyle overhaul. “I take care of my body more. I exercise three times a week, focusing on strength and conditioning. I eat a much healthier diet and avoid anything detrimental to my health.”

These changes have significantly impacted his skateboarding endurance. “My skating endurance has dramatically improved,” Hawk states. He credits this to a combination of supplements, regular exercise, and a balanced diet. His commitment to fitness extends beyond skateboarding.

Hawk emphasizes the importance of heart and joint health, especially as he ages. Having faced injuries in recent years, he feels he’s on a positive trajectory. He maintains a rigorous skateboarding routine, spending 90 minutes, three to four times a week, on his “intense” personal ramp.

Hawk uses a heart rate monitor to track his cardiovascular health. “According to the app, my cardiovascular health is seven years younger than my actual age,” he shares. This data reinforces the effectiveness of his health regimen, allowing him to continue pushing boundaries in skateboarding while prioritizing his well-being. His dedication serves as an inspiration, proving that age is just a number when passion and health align.
