Ozzy Osbourne’s Parkinson’s Disease Impacts Mobility, But Not His Voice

Ozzy Osbourne’s ongoing battle with Parkinson’s disease has affected his ability to walk, according to his wife, Sharon Osbourne. In a recent interview with The Sun, Sharon discussed Ozzy’s health while expressing excitement for his upcoming reunion with Black Sabbath for a final concert in July. This performance will mark the band’s first time together in 20 years.

Sharon confirmed that Parkinson’s disease is a progressive condition, meaning it cannot be stabilized and impacts different areas of the body. In Ozzy’s case, the disease has significantly affected his legs, hindering his mobility. However, she emphasized that his vocal abilities remain as strong as ever. “He’s very happy to be coming back and very emotional about this,” Sharon stated, highlighting Ozzy’s enthusiasm for the reunion concert.

Ozzy himself addressed his health on his SiriusXM radio show, acknowledging his struggles with walking but maintaining a positive outlook. “I have made it to 2025,” he declared. “I can’t walk, but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I’m still alive.” He further reflected on his fortune compared to others less fortunate, adding, “I may be moaning that I can’t walk but I look down the road and there’s people that didn’t do half as much as me and didn’t make it.”

Sharon shared with RadioX that Ozzy works diligently with a physiotherapist daily to maintain muscle movement and functionality. While acknowledging the challenges of Parkinson’s, she reassured fans that he is “as fine as you can be with Parkinson’s.” This dedication to physical therapy underscores Ozzy’s commitment to managing his condition and maintaining his well-being.

Ozzy was initially diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2003. More recently, in September 2023, he underwent his fourth spinal surgery, further emphasizing his ongoing health challenges. During an episode of The Osbournes Podcast, Ozzy candidly discussed the impact of these procedures. He described his feet feeling like they had “bricks tied to them” and admitted the surgeries were taking a toll.

He expressed his determination to stop further surgeries, stating, “Tomorrow I have my final surgery on my neck… I can’t do it anymore.” He also shared his struggles with basic mobility, like walking up and down stairs, attributing the difficulty to nerve damage. Despite these challenges, Ozzy remained defiant, dismissing critics and asserting, “I’m far from being on my last leg.” This resilience reflects Ozzy’s enduring spirit in the face of adversity.
