A New Book Explores the Complex Relationship Between Prince Harry and Prince William

A new book titled “Brothers and Wives” has sent shockwaves through the royal family, revealing a controversial claim about Prince Charles. The book alleges that on the day of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement, Prince Charles inquired about the potential skin color of their future children.

Author Christopher Andersen, who has covered the royal family for decades, writes that the alleged conversation took place over breakfast with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. According to the book, Charles asked, “What do you suppose their children’s complexion might be?”

While Andersen suggests that Charles’ inquiry was “innocent,” the book claims that royal advisors twisted it into something “toxic” that was then relayed to Harry and Meghan.

A spokesperson for Prince Charles has vehemently denied the allegations, telling The New York Post that the claim is “fiction and not worth further comment.”

This latest revelation comes on the heels of Harry and Meghan’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year, during which they accused the royal family of racism. Although the couple refrained from disclosing the identity of the individual who made the remarks, they later clarified that it was neither Queen Elizabeth II nor Prince Philip.

Following the interview, the Queen released a statement saying that the allegations were taken “very seriously” and would be addressed privately. Prince William also publicly defended the royal family, stating, “We are very much not a racist family.”

Andersen’s book delves into the often-strained relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William, suggesting that William harbored concerns about Harry’s whirlwind romance with Meghan. The book claims that William advised his brother to “take whatever time you need to really get to know this girl.” Harry’s alleged response? “Who the hell do you think you are?”

According to Andersen, tensions escalated in December 2019 when Harry and Meghan opted to spend Christmas in Canada instead of with the royal family. The book also alleges that, prior to recording her annual Christmas message, the Queen requested the removal of a portrait featuring Harry, Meghan, and their son Archie.

Andersen cites an unnamed confidant of Harry’s who claims that the Duke of Sussex felt as if he, Meghan, and Archie were being “erased” from the family. A spokesperson for the Queen, however, declined to comment on the specific allegations made in the book, stating that doing so would lend it “some form of authority or credibility.”

As of yet, neither Prince William nor Prince Harry have commented on the allegations outlined in Andersen’s book.
