The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, recently gave her first interview since her candid conversation with Oprah Winfrey. In an eight-minute interview with NPR, Meghan shared how she celebrated Father’s Day with her husband, Prince Harry, and their son, Archie.

Meghan expressed her joy in witnessing the bond between Harry and Archie, “I’m observing this love between my husband and our son, and imagining what it will be as they have more shared moments as our son gets older.” The interview, recorded before the birth of their daughter, Lilibet Diana, centered around Meghan’s children’s book, “The Bench.”

The book, inspired by a poem Meghan wrote for Harry after Archie’s birth, carries a universal message of love and family. “It started as a poem after Archie was born so any child or any family hopefully can open this book and see themselves in it,” she explained. The book celebrates diversity, featuring families of different “glasses or freckled or a different body shape or different ethnicity or religion.”

In a touching gesture reflecting the book’s title, Meghan gifted Harry a bench for Father’s Day. Meanwhile, across the pond, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, marked the occasion by sharing heartwarming photos of Prince William with their children.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, now residing in California, are anticipated to reunite with the royal family next month for the unveiling of a statue honoring their late mother, Princess Diana, on what would have been her 60th birthday. This reunion comes amidst ongoing tensions within the royal family.

New insights from Robert Lacey’s book, “Battle of the Brothers,” suggest that the rift between Prince Harry and Prince William originated from bullying allegations made against Meghan. While Meghan’s representatives have dismissed these accusations as a “calculated smear campaign,” an independent investigation initiated in March following the Oprah interview is underway.

Roy Nikkah from The Sunday Times reported that the inquiry, involving current and former royal staff, is taking longer than expected. It has been confirmed that Meghan will not be participating in the investigation.

As the investigation continues, the royal family maintains a busy schedule. Prince William, celebrating his 39th birthday, participated in a half marathon with his two eldest children, receiving warm wishes from the palace and Prince Charles.

The Queen, a passionate equestrian, attended the prestigious Royal Ascot on Saturday and is preparing for a full summer of engagements.
