On November 11th, a routine traffic stop in Southeast Atlanta escalated into a high-speed pursuit involving Atlanta Police Department’s air and canine units. The incident began when officers pulled over an SUV for expired tags and lack of insurance.

Upon approaching the vehicle, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana and observed what appeared to be a firearm inside. The SUV then sped off, prompting a chase. Investigators later determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen from neighboring Alabama.
The Atlanta Police Department deployed its helicopter and K9 units to track the fleeing suspect. Aerial surveillance footage captured the suspect abandoning the stolen vehicle and attempting to conceal himself behind a house.

Guided by the helicopter crew, officers on the ground closed in on the suspect’s location. Body camera footage shows officers apprehending the suspect and placing him under arrest.
The suspect, identified as Relic Robinson, was booked into the Fulton County Jail. He faces a multitude of charges, including theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, and obstruction of justice.
