A 20-year-old man, Gabriel Esparza, has been arrested in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Andrea Vasquez, who was shot and kidnapped from Penn Park in Whittier, California last Sunday.
The incident occured just after midnight as Vasquez was spending time in a parked car with her boyfriend. According to police reports, Esparza approached the vehicle and opened fire, prompting the boyfriend to flee. Upon returning to the scene, the boyfriend discovered blood and found Vasquez missing.
