Texas Man Calls 911, Confesses to Wife's Murder: 'My Father-in-Law is Gonna Kill Me'

A chilling incident unfolded in Fort Worth, Texas, where a man allegedly confessed to murdering his wife. The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Christopher Robinson, reportedly called 911 and admitted to the crime, expressing fear of retribution from his father-in-law.

The grisly discovery was made by Robinson’s brother, who had returned home from a trip on Friday, April 19th. Upon arriving at his brother’s house around 9:30 p.m., he found Christopher severely intoxicated. A foul odor emanated from one of the bedrooms, leading him to a horrifying sight – the body of his sister-in-law, 34-year-old Crystal Lynn Owens Robertson, wrapped in a tarp.

According to police reports, Crystal was found shirtless, with visible blood on her skin and a mark on her neck. The responding officer, Officer Mendoza, immediately secured the scene and called for homicide detectives.

Detective Anderson, who later obtained a search warrant for the house, noted Crystal’s body was covered in a blue tarp, with bloodstains and a mark on her neck. The position of an overturned office chair suggested a struggle had taken place.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of Crystal’s body. The following day, the medical examiner confirmed she had been fatally shot in the lower left side of her face, with bullet fragments lodged in her head.

Two days after the initial discovery, Christopher Robinson himself placed a chilling call to 911. He identified himself and his wife, provided their address, and confessed to killing Crystal. “My father-in-law is going to kill me. I actually killed his daughter. I killed his daughter,” he reportedly told the dispatcher.

Detectives Sullivan and Anderson visited Robinson, who was subsequently arrested. He reportedly confessed to shooting his wife once and surrendered a firearm, claiming it was the murder weapon.

This revelation raised questions as a second firearm had been previously recovered by the victim’s brother from the crime scene. Whether this points to a possible self-defense argument remains to be seen.

Robinson is currently in custody with bail set at $100,000. He faces a murder charge, and the investigation is ongoing.

Crystal was a beloved mother of five who enjoyed crocheting and sharing her creations on her Facebook page, “Mommy’s Crochet Corner.” In a poignant post from August 2023, she expressed her love and admiration for Christopher, calling him her “bestie” and “the great love of [her] life.”

The tragic case has left Crystal’s family devastated. The investigation will likely delve into the details surrounding the crime, including the possibility of intoxication playing a role in the events leading up to the shooting. The presence of two firearms further complicates the case, raising questions about the sequence of events and the possibility of self-defense.
