The Continuing Saga of Yellowstone

The Continuing Saga of Yellowstone

That’s quite a long wait, folks. I can say that because I hail from Bozeman, Montana, the very setting of this show. It’s where I rode my first horse, though I never tried bronco riding and I can’t lasso to save my life. While I can hit the broad side of a barn with a rifle, I’m no John Dutton.

Speaking of “no John Dutton,” Kevin Costner will not be appearing in this half-season of the series. The actor and filmmaker had a highly publicized dispute with mega-producer Taylor Sheridan regarding his on-set presence. Costner, currently occupied with his epic Western movie series Horizon: An American Saga, could not juggle both projects.

(I personally enjoyed Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 1 and am eagerly awaiting Chapter 2 later this year).

The saga of the Dutton family continues tonight on Paramount Network at 8pm ET and on CBS at 10pm ET (a special airing).

The catch here is that watching it live on TV tonight is the only way to see it now unless you’re willing to wait for the streaming release on Peacock months later. Alternatively, you can purchase the season on Prime Video to watch episodes sooner online. However, the only way to stay current with characters like Beth (Kelly Reilly), Rip (Cole Hauser), Kayce (Luke Grimes), Monica (Kelsey Asbille), Jamie (Wes Bentley), Jimmy (Jefferson White), and the rest of the ensemble cast, is to have traditional cable TV.

Are you still watching Yellowstone? Many fans have been dissatisfied with the show’s direction over the last few seasons, yet it remains a hugely popular soap opera (I call it a soap opera just like I did with Sons of Anarchy, but you might disagree).
