Lai Chau Double Murder

In a tragic incident, a woman was found dead at her grocery store in Lai Chau province. The victim, identified as Vàng Mò Bê (born 1962), was found with multiple injuries. The police determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma. Evidence at the scene pointed to robbery as the motive.

After a five-hour investigation, two suspects were apprehended. The individuals, Bế Đô (born 2007) and Lù Tơ Ly (born 2010), confessed to the crime. They admitted to attacking the victim after she refused to sell them beer on credit. The suspects then staged the scene to appear as a natural death before stealing two crates of beer and other valuables. Both suspects are currently in custody as the investigation continues.

Drug Bust in Vĩnh Long

Vĩnh Long police have arrested two men for drug trafficking. Nguyễn Như Trúc (36 years old) and Trần Bá Cang (40 years old) were caught transporting over 1.3 kg of heroin and methamphetamine. Trúc was initially apprehended while transporting a suspicious crate of beer on his motorbike. The investigation led to the capture of Cang, who was transporting the drugs by taxi. Both men are in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.

Quảng Ninh Faces Heavy Losses

Quảng Ninh province is facing significant financial losses in the aftermath of Typhoon Noru. Almost a month after the storm, hundreds of boats remain damaged or sunk.

260 vessels were affected, including tourist boats, fishing boats, and cargo ships. The cost of salvage and repairs is a considerable burden for individuals and businesses. While efforts are underway to restore these vessels, the sheer volume of damaged boats is causing delays. Local authorities have requested aid from the central government to help cover the recovery expenses.

Search Continues for Missing Victims

The search for the four missing victims of the Phong Châu bridge collapse continues in Phú Thọ province. The collapse, which occurred on September 9th, resulted in the deaths of four individuals.

A dedicated team of 234 people, including military personnel, police, and local officials, are working tirelessly to locate the missing individuals. The search is taking place along the Red River and covers a vast area. Specialized equipment, including boats, divers, and excavators, are being utilized.

Ferry Services Operational

Two military ferries are now operational to facilitate the movement of people and vehicles across the Red River. The ferries will connect Hương Nộn commune in Tam Nông district with Phùng Nguyên commune in Lâm Thao district. This temporary solution will help to alleviate the transportation challenges caused by the bridge collapse until a more permanent solution is in place.

Yen Bai Bridge Closed Due to Safety Concerns

The Yên Bái bridge in Yên Bái province has been closed to traffic due to safety concerns. Heavy rainfall from Typhoon Noru and upstream flooding caused the water level of the Red River to rise above the alarm level three.

The Department of Education and Training in Ho Chi Minh City has responded to calls for the abolition of Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) at schools. Concerns have been raised about PTAs engaging in illegal fee collection.

However, the department acknowledged the need for schools to effectively communicate PTA regulations to parents to prevent misunderstandings and ensure transparency.

Hanoi Residents Return Home After Typhoon Evacuation

Nearly 75,000 residents in Hanoi have returned home after being evacuated due to Typhoon Noru.

Flooding caused by heavy rains and the discharge of water from upstream reservoirs led to the evacuation of approximately 78,000 people. While water levels in many areas have receded, 3,000 residents remain displaced, primarily in the mountainous district of Chương Mỹ.

Police in Thanh Hóa raided the G7 karaoke bar in Hoàng Hóa district and caught several individuals using illegal drugs.

The raid, conducted in the early hours of October 3rd, resulted in the detention of numerous individuals who were taken to the police station for questioning. The G7 karaoke bar is known for employing scantily clad women and has been under suspicion for various violations. The investigation is ongoing.
