The customized puffer was the creation of Lefty’s Right Mind, a New York-based creative studio founded by Danielle Becker. Becker, known for her bespoke designs that tell a story, collaborated with Mahomes’ stylist Margot Zamet to bring the vision to life.
A Whirlwind of Creativity and Collaboration
The project, initially without a strict deadline, quickly became a race against time once Mahomes approved the design. Becker had just 48 hours to conceptualize, design, execute, and ship the jacket in time for the game. The final design, inspired by classic varsity jackets with a holiday twist, featured “Mahomes” and “Kansas City” in shimmering silver lurex and a bold “Chiefs” patch.
Becker’s attention to detail extended to carefully selecting three thread colors: metallic silver, lurex, and bright white, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic. A last-minute decision to move the design to the bottom of the jacket preserved the Prada tags inside. A small “Mahomes” detail on the front pocket added a personal touch.
