The Denver Broncos are gearing up for a pivotal AFC West divisional clash as they host the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6. Coming off back-to-back victories, the Broncos are riding a wave of momentum, but they understand the significance of divisional matchups.
Quarterback Russell Wilson acknowledged the challenge ahead, emphasizing the team’s determination to maintain their winning ways. “We don’t take it lightly,” Wilson remarked, highlighting the Raiders’ competitive spirit. “We’re going to go out there and compete at a high level, and I know they will too.”

Head coach Sean Payton expressed satisfaction with the team’s recent performances, particularly their ability to establish a potent running game. “The last two weeks, we’ve defended the run better, and we’ve run the ball better,” Payton noted. “That’s one thing that I think is noticeable and that’s encouraging.”
The Broncos’ defense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, ranking 12th in rushing defense and tied for second in total defense through the first five weeks. Cornerback Riley Moss, a standout rookie, emphasized the team’s relentless pursuit of improvement. “I think as the season has progressed, it’s week five, um, I think I’ve gotten better,” Moss stated. “Um, as the season has gone on and and you know I’m it’s good, but it’s not great. You know, there’s still things to work on.”

However, the Broncos are not without their injury concerns. The team released its injury report on Wednesday, revealing that running back Tyler Badie did not participate in practice due to a lingering back injury. Safety Justin Simmons was limited in practice with an ankle issue, while wide receiver Courtland Sutton was a full participant, signaling his likely availability for Sunday’s matchup.
The Broncos’ ability to control the line of scrimmage and contain the Raiders’ rushing attack will be paramount to their success. Offensively, establishing a balanced attack and capitalizing on explosive plays will be crucial against a Raiders defense that has shown vulnerabilities.
As the Broncos enter this critical divisional clash, they’ll be looking to build upon their recent success and solidify their position in the highly competitive AFC West.
