Coors Light has enlisted the help of sloths for their 2025 Super Bowl commercial, cleverly playing on the universal feeling of sluggishness after the big game. The 60-second spot, which will air as a 30-second ad during Super Bowl LIX on February 9th, depicts anthropomorphic sloths struggling through the mundane tasks of a Monday following the Super Bowl.
Set to a slowed-down version of The Mamas and The Papas’ classic “Monday, Monday,” the commercial, titled “Slow Monday,” showcases sloths attempting to navigate everyday activities like spin class, lawn mowing, and office work, all with hilariously slow and clumsy results. The ad, created by Mischief @No Fixed Address, perfectly captures the feeling of a “Case of the Mondays.”
The commercial culminates with one of the sloth characters receiving a 12-pack of Coors Light featuring the brand’s limited-edition Mondays Light packaging, transforming him back into a human. The voiceover states, “Tomorrow, we’ll all have a case of the Mondays. So, Coors Light made a better case to help you chill.”
Coors Light has capitalized on the commercial’s theme by releasing the limited-edition “Mondays” packaging nationwide, offering fans a chance to win a case of Coors Light for the Monday after the Super Bowl.
Furthermore, a “Case of the Mondays” merchandise collection featuring comfortable apparel and accessories like sweat sets, bucket hats, blankets, and pillows is available at CoorsLight.com/Mondays.
According to Marcelo Pascoa, Coors Light’s vice president of marketing, “The day after the big game, it’s easy to feel like a sloth — they perfectly capture that ‘Case of the Mondays’ feeling. For weeks, we’ve been bringing this idea of ‘Case of the Mondays’ to life everywhere. Our ad is the culmination of all that hard work in an unexpected way.”
Interestingly, the entire campaign originated from a simple typo. Earlier this year, Coors Light misspelled “refreshment” as “refershment” in various advertisements, embracing the mistake as their own “Case of the Mondays” moment, which ultimately inspired the Super Bowl commercial, special packaging, and merchandise line.
Super Bowl LIX will take place on Sunday, February 9th, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, featuring a matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
