The Miami Dolphins boasted one of the most potent rushing attacks in the NFL during the 2023 season, largely thanks to the electrifying speed and agility of running back De’Von Achane. While playing second fiddle to Raheem Mostert, Achane still managed to amass an impressive 800 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in just 11 games. His remarkable 7.8 yards per carry average underscored his explosiveness. He also contributed significantly in the passing game, catching 27 passes for 197 yards and three touchdowns.

Now entering his second year in the league, Achane has issued a bold statement, warning the rest of the NFL to prepare for an even more dominant performance in the upcoming 2024 season. He recently took to Instagram with a message that resonated with confidence: “They better be worried about who I’m becoming, not who I was.”

The former Texas A&M standout was drafted by the Dolphins in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Achane burst onto the scene with a phenomenal start to his rookie campaign, accumulating 455 rushing yards and seven total touchdowns between Weeks 2 and 4. Unfortunately, a series of injuries forced him to miss four consecutive games. Upon his return in Week 11, he managed only a single carry before being sidelined again the following week.

While Achane regained his health for the final six games of the season, his performance noticeably dipped, recording only one 100-yard rushing game during that stretch. Despite this late-season slowdown, his overall rookie year showcased his undeniable potential.

The Dolphins’ dynamic running back duo of Mostert and Achane poses a formidable threat to opposing defenses in 2024. Their combined speed, agility, and power are sure to keep defensive coordinators up at night. The Dolphins, who led the league in total offense in 2023, will undoubtedly rely on their running game to fuel their offensive firepower once again.

While the team faltered in the latter part of the season, ultimately surrendering a three-game lead in the AFC East, the departure of several key players from the Buffalo Bills this offseason presents a golden opportunity for the Dolphins to claim the division title. The upcoming season promises to be an exciting one for Miami, and De’Von Achane will undoubtedly be a key factor in their pursuit of success.
