A volunteer rescue team has reported the discovery of a body and vehicle, believed to be those of missing 16-year-old Kiely Rodni. Rodni was last seen on Saturday, August 6th, at a party in Truckee, California. The party, held approximately 30 minutes northwest of Lake Tahoe, was attended by an estimated 200-300 teenagers and young adults, according to officials.
Rodni had texted her mother indicating she was leaving the party and heading home, but she never arrived. Her silver 2013 Honda CR-V was also reported missing. On Sunday, Adventures with Purpose, an Oregon-based rescue team, announced via their Facebook page that they had located Rodni’s vehicle submerged in approximately 14 feet of water. The vehicle was found overturned, and a body, believed to be Rodni’s, was inside.

Following the discovery, Rodni’s family and local law enforcement were immediately notified. The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office confirmed they were aware of the situation and dispatched officers to meet with the Adventures with Purpose dive team. A press conference has been scheduled for 11:00 AM Pacific Time on Monday to provide further details about the recovered body and vehicle.
