Dolly Parton, the iconic country music star, has announced the expansion of her Dolly Wines brand with a new Pinot Noir, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Interestingly, Parton revealed a long-standing dislike for the color red, associating it with the woman who tried to steal her husband, a theme central to her hit song “Jolene.”

However, Parton’s new Pinot Noir has seemingly reconciled her with the color. In a video shared on her Facebook page, she playfully referenced “Jolene,” stating that the wine has changed her feelings about red. She encouraged fans to try the new wine, showcasing a bottle with distinctive blue wrapping and butterfly designs. Notably, the wine’s debut coincides with the anniversary month of the “Jolene” album release in 1974. The song “Jolene” itself celebrates its 52nd anniversary this year.
In the classic song, Parton describes a striking redhead who posed a threat to her relationship, singing, “Your beauty is beyond compare / With flaming locks of auburn hair.”

Parton further promoted the Pinot Noir on Instagram, urging followers to “stop scrolling” and raise a toast to her “shooting star” wine. Ming Alterman, marketing director of Accolade Wines, Americas, expressed pride in the collaboration with Parton Family Cellars, highlighting the wine’s quality and craftsmanship. Alterman emphasized that the Pinot Noir embodies Parton’s vision of a wine meant for sharing and celebrating life’s moments.
The Pinot Noir complements Dolly Wines’ existing Chardonnay, Rosé, and Prosecco offerings.

Described as a “silky and fresh Pinot, with red fruit characters and a hint of vanilla,” the wine is suggested as a pairing for holiday meals or cheese platters. Dolly Wines Pinot Noir is available at major retailers like Kroger, Total Wine & More, Publix, and Cost Plus World Market, both in-store and online, with a suggested retail price of $14.99.
