A harrowing incident unfolded in Louisville, Kentucky, as police officers rescued a woman held captive inside a barricaded home. The chilling ordeal, captured on body camera footage, showcases the bravery of the officers and the terrifying situation the victim endured.
On the evening of August 16th, concerned neighbors alerted authorities to the sounds of a woman’s desperate cries emanating from a residence on the city’s South side. Responding officers arrived at the scene around 7 p.m., immediately met with a chilling discovery.

The first floor of the house was entirely barricaded, sealing off all entry points. Doors and windows were blocked, leaving no apparent way in. However, a glimmer of hope emerged from the second floor – a window stood open.
Through this opening, officers discovered 37-year-old Jonna Wilson. She had managed to kick out the window, her frantic cries for help finally reaching those outside. A chain collar with a padlock secured around her neck painted a grim picture of her captivity.

Utilizing a ladder found on the property, officers ascended to reach Wilson. The body camera footage reveals her distress – she is visibly shaken and in tears. Officers immediately inquire about the suspect, seeking to understand the situation and ensure the safety of everyone involved.
Wilson identified her captor as 36-year-old Moses May, her estranged boyfriend and the father of her child. She recounted how May had asked her to come over to his house to help clean, a seemingly innocuous request that took a sinister turn. Upon her arrival, he chained her up, holding her against her will for approximately five hours before her rescue.

Once safely outside the home, officers used hedge clippers to remove the chain collar from Wilson’s neck, finally ending her horrifying ordeal.

Authorities apprehended Moses May two days later. He faces a series of grave charges, including kidnapping, wanton endangerment, and assault. May has pleaded not guilty to all charges and awaits his next court appearance, scheduled for Monday.
