Drunken Disney Guest Arrested After Allegedly Assaulting Family for Mocking Daughter with Down Syndrome

A Florida man’s magical Disney vacation took a dark turn when he was arrested for allegedly assaulting a family after mocking their daughter with Down syndrome. The incident, which occurred in January, unfolded at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort in Orlando, Florida.

61-year-old Brent George was enjoying drinks at the resort bar with his wife and two friends. According to police reports and witness testimonies, George allegedly approached a nearby table of four and began taunting a young woman with Down syndrome.

The young woman’s mother confronted George about his behavior. In response, George allegedly shoved the mother twice before slapping her daughter-in-law, who attempted to de-escalate the situation.

The situation escalated further when the woman’s husband intervened, leading to a physical altercation with George. The husband reportedly punched George in the face, and during the scuffle, a glass cup was allegedly thrown.

Orange County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene to find George with a bloody eye, initially giving the impression that he was the victim.

However, as deputies interviewed witnesses and gathered information, a different story emerged. Bodycam footage captured the family recounting the events to the police, detailing George’s alleged mocking of their daughter and subsequent assault.

The family claimed that George became increasingly agitated when the mother confronted him about his behavior towards their daughter, who communicates through vocalizations. They allege that he physically assaulted them after the mother defended her daughter.

Despite his initial claims of being the victim, George, who appeared intoxicated, struggled to recall the details of the altercation to the police. He maintained that he had no recollection of the events.

Meanwhile, witnesses and Disney staff members contradicted George’s account, stating that he was the primary aggressor. They claimed that he initiated the physical altercation after the family confronted him.

Based on witness testimonies and evidence, deputies determined George to be the aggressor and placed him under arrest. He was charged with four counts of battery.

George was subsequently banned from Disney property for a year. His wife, who was visibly upset by the turn of events, revealed that it was the first day of their vacation and that she had just purchased an annual pass.

Following his arrest, George was taken to the Orange County Jail, where he spent the night. He was released the next day after his wife paid a $4,000 bond. George pleaded not guilty to the charges.
