Eva Longoria Discusses Nespresso Ad with George Clooney, Culinary Passions, and Life Abroad

Nespresso’s latest ad campaign features George Clooney as a detective investigating the theft of the brand’s coffee capsules. Eva Longoria plays a prime suspect in this playful heist. Longoria shared insights into the commercial, her culinary connections, and her life abroad in a recent interview.

The actress clarified that her character wasn’t inspired by any specific chef, despite her friendships with culinary stars like Bobby Flay, Michael Symon, and others she’s met while filming her “Searching for…” series. The three-day shoot in Rome was filled with laughter, though Clooney, known for his pranks, remained “well-behaved” on set.

Longoria, who has known Clooney for over 15 years, described him as “funny, easygoing,” and someone who “lifts up everybody.” She praised his contagious positive energy and kindness. A self-proclaimed “huge coffee drinker,” Longoria emphasized the importance of coffee in her morning routine and as a catalyst for connecting with friends. She recounted a recent ski trip with friends and their children, expressing her desire to live communally with them.

The “Desperate Housewives” alum, who released her cookbook “My Mexican Kitchen” in 2024, also enjoys cooking with Brooklyn Beckham. She distinguishes between being a “cook,” emphasizing the joy of creating meals with friends, and a professional chef.

For the past several years, Longoria, her husband José Bastón, and their 6-year-old son Santiago have divided their time between Spain and Mexico. She lauded the diverse breakfast options in Mexico, contrasting them with the simpler breakfasts common in other countries.

In Spain, Longoria appreciates the emphasis on fresh, local ingredients and the practice of shopping daily at markets. She highlighted the health benefits of this “clean eating” approach, noting that late dinners in Spain don’t cause her the same digestive discomfort as they might in the U.S.
