Eva Longoria’s 6-year-old son, Santiago, is already developing a sophisticated taste for international cuisine. The actress, 49, recently shared insights into her family’s culinary experiences while living abroad during an interview with PEOPLE about her Nespresso campaign. Longoria, who splits her time between Spain and Mexico with husband José Bastón, emphasized the importance of food as a gateway to understanding different cultures.
“I think the easiest way to get to know a culture is through food, and I love food,” she says. Longoria believes that exposing Santiago to diverse cuisines fosters his intelligence and global awareness. She proudly states that her son “eats everything.”

Santiago’s culinary curiosity extends beyond simply trying new foods; he associates specific dishes with their countries of origin. He requests macarons from Paris and eagerly anticipates paella in Spain. “It’s really sweet to see him also growing up with this appreciation of worldly cultures,” Longoria shares.
Longoria herself is passionate about the cuisine of both Spain and Mexico. She declares that Mexico offers “the best breakfasts in the world,” citing the vast array of options like chilaquiles, molletes, and huevos rancheros as unparalleled compared to the more limited breakfast choices in other countries.
As for Spain, Longoria simply states, “I love everything.” She appreciates the emphasis on fresh, local ingredients and the traditional practice of daily market shopping for meals.

“I like going to the market, buying what you’re going to cook tonight,” she explains. Longoria highlights the prevalence of specialized markets for meat and produce, emphasizing the freshness, healthiness, and local sourcing of Spanish ingredients. This “clean eating,” she believes, allows her to enjoy late dinners without digestive discomfort, a contrast to her experiences in the US. She notes that a 10 p.m. dinner in Spain feels completely different than a late meal in America.
Recently, Longoria filmed a Nespresso commercial in Rome alongside George Clooney. Despite Clooney’s reputation for pranks, Longoria describes him as “well-behaved” on set, with their time spent “laughing and laughing and laughing.” She praises his kindness and contagious energy, emphasizing his positive impact on everyone around him.
