A Celebration of Family and Music
The 2024 Billboard Latin Music Week in Miami pulsed with the vibrant energy of Latin music’s biggest stars. Among the most anticipated events was the “All in the Family” panel, presented by Walmart, featuring two of Música Mexicana’s hottest acts: Eslabon Armado and Yahritza y Su Esencia. What set this panel apart was the unique dynamic of family, as both groups are managed by their own kin.
Yahritza y Su Esencia: A Sister’s Guidance
Yahritza y Su Esencia, the young trio captivating audiences with their soulful corridos, were joined by their older sister and manager, Adriana Martinez. “We never imagined having a music career, let alone our sister as our manager,” Yahritza shared. “She’s always been there for us, guiding us, practically like a second mother.”
Adriana admitted that managing her siblings presented a unique set of challenges, especially given their lack of industry experience. “Setting boundaries between family and work was crucial from the start,” she explained. “But instilling the values we grew up with was equally important. I had to learn on the fly, asking for guidance every step of the way. Our values come first, everything else follows.”
Eslabon Armado: A Family Affair
Eslabon Armado echoed the sentiment of family unity. The group, known for their romantic sierreño sound, was accompanied by their mother and manager, Nelida Oseguera. Lead vocalist Pedro Tovar expressed his gratitude, stating, “Being together as a family at events and concerts is a true blessing. We recognize that not everyone has that, and we cherish it.”
Nelida provided context for their journey, “Pedro dreamt of this since he was 12. My husband and I vowed to support him wholeheartedly. He decided his parents would be his managers, and here we are because of his vision.”
A Sneak Peek and Heartfelt Dedication
The panel culminated with Yahritza y Su Esencia treating the audience to an exclusive preview of their upcoming single, “Y qué tal si te escapas del cielo.” The song holds special significance as a heartfelt dedication to their late cousin.
