Florida Man Arrested for Pulling Gun on Woman Over Driveway Dispute

A Florida man found himself in hot water after allegedly pulling a gun on a woman during a dispute over his driveway. The incident, captured on a home security system, has sparked outrage and raised questions about the escalation of minor disagreements.

The Incident: A Driveway Mishap Turns Dangerous

On May 27th, in Palm Coast, Florida, 60-year-old Terry Vetch was monitoring his Nest security system when he noticed a vehicle pull into his driveway. Unaware that the car belonged to a visitor of his neighbor, Vetch approached the vehicle, which was parked across the street, and began yelling at the driver.

The situation escalated when a woman from the neighbor’s house came outside to see what was happening. Vetch, in a fit of rage, allegedly pulled out a gun and pointed it at the woman’s head.

911 Calls Reveal Conflicting Accounts

The incident led to multiple 911 calls, each providing a different perspective on the altercation. One of Vetch’s neighbors called, stating that Vetch had a gun pointed at his guest’s head. Another call reported that a man was waving a gun around after a car pulled into his driveway.

Vetch, in his call to 911, claimed that his neighbors were “deranged” and that the woman was threatening him. He insisted that he had warned his neighbors about trespassing before and that he didn’t realize the vehicle belonged to a visitor.

Arrest and Charges: Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon

Upon arriving at the scene, investigators questioned Vetch, who repeated his claims of being threatened and his previous warnings about trespassing. However, based on witness testimonies and the security footage, Vetch was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Vetch was later released on a $50,000 bond. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers of escalating minor disputes and the importance of conflict resolution. The use of firearms in such situations is unacceptable and can have severe consequences.
