Gwyneth Paltrow Sells Brentwood Mansion for $22 Million

Gwyneth Paltrow has sold her Los Angeles mansion in Mandeville Canyon, Brentwood, for $22 million, according to The Wall Street Journal. The 8,000-square-foot home, situated on two-thirds of an acre, was initially listed for nearly $30 million in May 2024 and later reduced to $24.9 million in October.

The sale price, while lower than the initial asking price, still represents a significant profit for Paltrow, who purchased the property with then-husband Chris Martin for $9.95 million in 2012. The single-story home, originally built in the 1950s, underwent renovations around 2009.

The main house features six bedrooms and a spacious kitchen equipped with double cooktops, a wood-burning oven, high ceilings, abundant natural light from large windows, and black tile floors. In addition to the main residence, the property includes a one-bedroom guesthouse complete with an office, gym, wine cellar, movie theater, and game room. There is also an apartment located above the garage.

Listing agent Lea Porter of The Beverly Hills Estates previously highlighted the property’s exceptional privacy, attributed to its mature trees and tall hedges, creating a “private oasis” with “unmatched privacy and tranquility.” Porter described the estate as “one of Brentwood’s finest,” emphasizing its “serene atmosphere” and blend of “elegance and comfort.”

Paltrow’s decision to sell was reportedly motivated by her children, Apple and Moses, reaching adulthood. She listed the property in the same month that Moses graduated high school. Paltrow married producer Brad Falchuk in 2018, and he and his two children also resided at the Brentwood property.

In addition to the recently sold Brentwood estate, Paltrow owns a property in Montecito, California, and a home in Amagansett, New York. According to Porter, Paltrow and Falchuk plan to divide their time between Montecito, New York, and potentially a new Los Angeles residence. Although the Brentwood home was spared from the January 2025 Los Angeles wildfires, Paltrow and Goop pledged $2 million in fire relief efforts. She emphasized the importance of community and the profound impact of losing one’s home in an Instagram post.
