This Golden Globes appearance wasn’t Foxx’s first. In 2005, he won Best Performance by an Actor in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture for his portrayal of Ray Charles in Ray. He also received nominations that year for his roles in Collateral and Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story.
