Sister Wives star Janelle Brown marked a somber Christmas, her first since the passing of her son, Garrison Brown. She shared poignant memories and photos on social media, expressing her grief and gratitude for the time spent with him.
Janelle posted a series of family photos taken on Christmas Eve 2023 on her Instagram Stories, accompanied by a heartfelt message: “Miss you so much sweetheart. I am so beyond grateful we were all together last year and got pictures.” The images included a group photo featuring Janelle with all six of her children, their spouses, and grandchildren. Another captured a tender moment of Garrison kissing his mother on the cheek.

Garrison Brown was found deceased in his Arizona home on March 5th. The Flagstaff Police Department confirmed the death, stating that Garrison’s brother, Gabriel, discovered him. The official cause of death was later ruled a suicide.
Following the tragic news, Janelle and her ex-husband, Kody Brown, released a joint statement expressing their profound sadness. They described Garrison as “a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him,” and acknowledged the immense void left by his passing.

In a candid interview with PEOPLE in September, Janelle revealed that Garrison’s death came as a complete shock to the family. He had appeared upbeat and engaged in the months leading up to the tragedy. Janelle mentioned that while substance abuse may have been a factor, Garrison never outwardly expressed any deep sadness or despair. He had been actively communicating with family, adopted a new cat, and was enthusiastic about his career prospects.

Garrison’s death has profoundly impacted the Brown family, prompting more open and honest communication about mental health. Janelle emphasized the importance of “real check-ins” and genuine conversations to ensure that everyone is truly doing okay. The family now actively discusses mental well-being and encourages open expression of feelings.
