The Warren, Ohio courtroom erupted in violence on Wednesday as two relatives of a murdered woman and her three children physically attacked the accused killer, Jason Howard, 24, during a hearing. The attack began when Lewis West, 30, brother of victim Jameila West, reached over the courtroom banister and began punching Howard. Following the attack, a visibly shaken but unharmed Howard was examined by a jail doctor. Trumbull County Sheriff’s Maj. Robert Davis confirmed Howard sustained no injuries. Both West and Honzu were immediately arrested and charged with assault within the Trumbull County courthouse.
The underlying case involves the brutal murder of Jameila West, 27, and her three children – a 10-year-old daughter and two sons aged 3 and 5 – in Columbus, Ohio, in June 2006. Howard, the father of the youngest child, is the prime suspect in the quadruple homicide.

However, the Wednesday hearing in Warren pertained to separate charges against Howard: the murder of a man and the shooting of two others in Warren just days before the bodies of Jameila West and her children were discovered in Columbus, approximately 140 miles away.
According to Victoria West, the mother of Jameila West, the courtroom outburst was triggered by her touching the back of Howard’s head.
