Kevin Jonas Sr., father of the Jonas Brothers and a seasoned music manager, has released his debut Christmas EP, Ready Set Glow – A Holiday Collection. The inspiration for this festive project came from his five granddaughters, who have wholeheartedly embraced the new music.
A Family Affair: Creating the Christmas EP
The seven-track EP was initially a secret gift for Kevin Sr.’s wife, Denise, who had encouraged him to create a Christmas album for over three decades. After managing the Jonas Brothers and facing some health challenges, the couple restarted their entertainment company. It was their team who suggested surprising Denise with the album, prompting Kevin Sr. to finally pursue the project.

Although the surprise was unintentionally revealed during a phone call, it led to a beautiful collaboration. Denise joined Kevin Sr. on the title track, “Ready Set Glow,” marking their first recording together in 40 years. Despite initial hesitations, Denise is proud of the final result, and Kevin Sr. considers it the best song on the EP.
The album is a true family affair. Their youngest son, Frankie, contributed backing vocals on two tracks. “Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer)” holds special significance as a song Kevin Sr. wrote with Nick when Nick was a child.
Sharing the Music with the Jonas Family
The couple nervously shared the finished EP with their sons, unsure of their reaction. However, the brothers were incredibly supportive and enthusiastic about the project.

The granddaughters’ delight in the music, especially Nick and Priyanka’s daughter Malti’s fascination with Denise’s vocals, has been particularly heartwarming for the couple. Malti’s repeated requests to hear the song solidified the EP’s success in the eyes of its intended audience.
Jonas Family Christmas Traditions
Christmas is a cherished time for the Jonas family, filled with both long-standing traditions and new memories. They fondly recall decorating the Christmas tree while sharing the stories behind each ornament. Denise recounts a humorous Christmas Eve tradition involving shrimp shelling that inadvertently led to Joe being hospitalized with a shellfish allergy.

While busy schedules make it challenging for the entire family to gather on Christmas Day, they always prioritize a “Jonas Family Christmas” celebration. Denise’s dedication to creating a festive atmosphere, even in hotel rooms, ensures that the spirit of Christmas is always present.

Kevin Sr. and Denise express immense pride in witnessing their sons embrace parenthood and continue family traditions with their own children. The daughters-in-law actively participate by seeking out family recipes, further solidifying the importance of shared experiences.
