Actress Kristen Bell unveiled a dazzling Christmas tree inspired by the popular Broadway musical and film “Wicked,” delighting fans with its intricate details and whimsical charm. The elaborate display showcased a unique blend of classic “Wizard of Oz” elements and iconic imagery from the modern reimagining.
Bell shared a photo of the tree on Instagram, revealing a vibrant yellow brick road leading to its base. Peeking out from beneath the tree were a pair of legs clad in the instantly recognizable ruby slippers, a nod to the Wicked Witch of the East from the beloved 1939 film starring Judy Garland.

The tree itself was adorned with pink and red ornaments and ribbons, capturing the whimsical essence of Oz. Two distinctive tree toppers represented the musical’s central characters, Glinda and Elphaba. One featured blonde hair, a pink dress, and angel wings, embodying the good witch Glinda. The other, with a green dress, green wings, and a pointed black witch’s hat, clearly depicted the misunderstood Elphaba. A yellow caution sign reading “Caution: Flying Monkeys Ahead” added a playful touch to the backdrop. Even the gifts under the tree followed the theme, wrapped in green, pink, and red.
Bell’s “Wicked” enthusiasm isn’t new. She previously shared her love for the musical, even taking her choir to see the film adaptation. In a November Instagram post, Bell documented the choir’s joyous experience, singing along to iconic numbers like “Dancing Through Life” and “Defying Gravity.” She expressed her gratitude to the film’s director, Jon M. Chu, for the unforgettable experience.
This elaborate Christmas display follows a tradition of themed trees for Bell and her husband, Dax Shepard. Last year, their tree featured a Grinch theme, complete with the Grinch himself entangled in the branches. Shepard humorously described it as the “Christmas tree that scared the s— out of me” on Instagram.
While these themed trees bring joy to their daughters, Delta and Lincoln, Bell acknowledges the effort involved. She shared a relatable video of herself grabbing a Red Bull on Christmas morning, captioning it with a message of solidarity for tired moms, encouraging them to “do what you need to do with no regrets.” This year’s “Wicked” creation undoubtedly brought a touch of magic to the Bell-Shepard household, solidifying their reputation for festive creativity.
