Sister Wives star Meri Brown recently relocated from Flagstaff, Arizona, to Parowan, Utah, the location of her bed and breakfast, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Brown opened up about her move and shared some surprising sentiments about Flagstaff. When asked if she missed the city, Brown responded with a resounding “Nope. Not at all.”
While acknowledging the beauty of Flagstaff and its abundance of trees, something she’s often expressed appreciation for on the show, Brown admitted to a lack of social connection during her three to four years residing there. “I lived there for three or four years and I never made any friends there,” she stated.

Brown elaborated on her reasons for leaving Flagstaff, explaining that the move was solely motivated by her family’s decision and not a personal desire. “It just wasn’t for me. I moved there because the family did,” she confessed. “It was not ever on my radar, ‘Oh, Flagstaff, Arizona. We should live there.’ ” She emphasized the importance of finding a place where one feels a sense of belonging, especially in their 50s, a time for pursuing personal happiness.
Returning to Parowan, a place she previously called home and where she already owned a house, felt like the natural choice. “It made sense to me because I already owned the house,” Brown explained, dispelling any assumptions that the purchase was an “escape route” from her family situation. Her primary motivation was to bring her old family home back into the family’s possession.

With her separation from Kody Brown after a 32-year polygamous marriage, remaining in Flagstaff, a place devoid of personal connections, seemed pointless. Brown gave herself a two-year timeframe to settle in Parowan and contemplate her future, a period that is now nearing its end.
The move to Parowan signifies a new chapter for Brown, allowing her to reconnect with a familiar environment and embark on a journey of self-discovery. Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC. A sneak peek of the December 15th episode reveals Kody expressing to his remaining wife, Robyn Brown, his desire for divine assurance in their relationship.
