Michelle Williams, the renowned singer and actress, recently revealed her plans for a quiet Christmas this year. The Broadway star of “Death Becomes Her” shared in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE that she’s unsure of her holiday plans due to the demanding Broadway schedule.
“We actually have Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off,” Williams explained. However, the short break presents a dilemma. She’s hesitant about airport travel during the holiday rush, making it likely she’ll stay put. “I don’t know what I’m going to do yet because I don’t know if I want to be in the airport on those days.”

Returning to work immediately after the holiday also complicates travel. Williams is required back on stage the day after Christmas for two performances of “Death Becomes Her.” “Those two days are a tease for me because I’d have to leave here on Christmas Eve, [and] I’d have to return Christmas Day to be prepared for the two shows the next day,” she said. “It doesn’t look like I’m going anywhere, doing anything.”
The interview also touched upon a recent highlight for Williams: the reunion of Destiny’s Child at the opening night of her Broadway show. Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland, her former bandmates, showed their support, a moment that deeply resonated with Williams. “It was an absolute joy having them there because I know they’re fans of the movie,” she shared.
Williams recounted how Beyoncé and Rowland often quote lines from the original “Death Becomes Her” film, showcasing their appreciation for the source material. Their presence provided a sense of grounding and inspiration for Williams. “We obviously have not been touring together for years, but it took me back to the time when I’d been with them on stage,” she reminisced. “Even though they weren’t on stage with me, I felt so grounded. It’s giving me some fuel for the rest of my run in the show.”

Beyoncé documented the reunion on Instagram, sharing photos from the evening and a video set to the Miley Cyrus duet, “II Most Wanted.” The chosen lyrics, “I’ll be your shotgun rider till the day I die,” underscored the enduring bond between the three singers. Williams responded to the post with a heartfelt comment: “I try not to cry too early in the day BUT……. My sisters 4ever! 🤍💫.” The reunion served as a powerful reminder of their enduring friendship and shared history, offering a touching moment amidst Williams’ busy Broadway schedule and low-key Christmas plans.
