Comedian Nikki Glaser chose career advancement over cosmetic enhancement, postponing a planned surgical procedure to host the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards in January 2025. Glaser, known for her sharp wit and appearances on Comedy Central Roasts, was originally scheduled for a brow lift or a similar invasive procedure in early January 2025. However, upon receiving the exciting news of her hosting gig, she quickly rearranged her priorities.

During a December 29th interview on CBS Mornings, Glaser recounted the moment she received the call from her agents, revealing their subtle suggestion to reschedule the surgery. “When it’s two,” Glaser explained, referring to both her agents calling simultaneously, “you know it’s good news…They’re like, ‘So, this operation, is there any way you could push it ’til maybe the second week of January?'” The call confirmed her selection as the host for the prestigious awards ceremony.
The official announcement from CBS and the Golden Globes came in August, confirming Glaser as the host for the January 5th, 2025 event. In a statement expressing her enthusiasm, Glaser stated, “I am absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Golden Globes. It’s one of my favorite nights of television and now I get a front-row seat (actually, I think I have to host from the stage).” She further joked, adding, “The Golden Globes is not only a huge night for TV and film, but also for comedy. It’s one of the few times that show business not only allows, but encourages itself to be lovingly mocked.”
Glaser’s comedic talent extends to her recent participation in Netflix’s live special, The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady. Sharing the stage with prominent figures like Kevin Hart, Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, and even Kim Kardashian, Glaser delivered memorable jokes targeting the former NFL quarterback.

One particularly pointed joke involved Brady’s ex-wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen: “Tom Brady, five-time Super Bowl MVP…you have seven rings — well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back,” referencing their 2022 divorce. Glaser later admitted to contemplating the inclusion of Bündchen in her jokes, acknowledging Bündchen’s absence from the event. Ultimately, she decided to proceed, reasoning, “She’s the hottest person in the world, and I go, ‘She can probably handle it.’” Glaser even expressed a willingness to apologize to Bündchen if they ever met.
The 2025 Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Nikki Glaser, will air live on Sunday, January 5th, from 8 to 11 p.m. on CBS and will be available for streaming on Paramount+. This event marks a significant career milestone for Glaser, demonstrating her rising prominence in the comedy world and her dedication to her craft.
