A heart-stopping car chase unfolded in Akron, Ohio, after a 21-year-old man allegedly stole a car with a 2-year-old boy in the backseat. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, August 15th, began at a Circle K parking lot around 8:30 a.m.
Jadden White, the suspect, allegedly took advantage of a car left running and went for a joyride. Unbeknownst to him, a 2-year-old boy was in the backseat, instantly escalating the situation from grand theft auto to kidnapping.

The boy’s parents quickly alerted the police, setting off a pursuit involving the Akron police. The chase took a chilling turn when White stopped momentarily to abandon the toddler, still strapped in his car seat, in the middle of an intersection. Fortunately, officers were able to secure the child while the chase continued.
The pursuit ultimately ended when White crashed the stolen vehicle, injuring a police officer in the process. Dashcam footage shows multiple police vehicles converging on the scene as officers swiftly apprehended the suspect.
