The incident occurred on Tuesday, and the video quickly gained traction online, prompting a swift response from the department.
The video footage shows the officer standing outside his squad car, embracing a woman. The two share a kiss before walking towards the rear passenger door, with the officer’s arm around the woman’s shoulder. They then get into the back seat of the patrol car. The video is briefly interrupted by an unrelated individual walking in front of the camera, but when the view clears, the patrol car door is closed, and the pair remain in the back seat for the remainder of the footage.
As soon as the video came to the attention of the Prince George’s County Police Department, they initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The department released a statement saying, “As soon as we became aware earlier today, we opened an investigation to determine the circumstances.”
