Prince William Receives Significant Military Title Amidst Royal Family Tensions

King Charles III has officially appointed Prince William as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, a title previously held by Prince Harry. This prestigious role holds special significance as it was the same unit Prince Harry served with in Afghanistan.

Royal experts believe that had Prince Harry remained a working member of the royal family, this honor would have naturally fallen to him. The announcement of Prince William’s appointment came during a period of heightened tension within the royal family, particularly during Prince Harry’s recent visit to London.

Adding to the speculation, The Sunday Times reported that King Charles declined to meet with Prince Harry during his visit, despite Harry’s attempts to reconcile. Instead, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle embarked on a highly publicized trip to Nigeria, engaging in various engagements including a volleyball match, fundraising events, and attending a reception for military families.

This trip, however, was not an official royal engagement on behalf of the King, but rather a personal mission for the couple. Markle revealed that she discovered her Nigerian heritage through a DNA test, adding a personal touch to their visit.

The couple shared heartwarming anecdotes about their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, with local schoolchildren. They described Archie’s love for construction and Lilibet’s passion for singing and dancing.

With Princess Lilibet’s third birthday approaching on June 4th, it remains uncertain whether she and Prince Archie will attend the King’s official birthday parade, Trooping the Colour. While they participated two years ago, meeting then-Prince Charles, their attendance this year remains unconfirmed.
