Rapper Boosie Badazz Faces Federal Gun Charge After Instagram Live Incident

Rapper Boosie Badazz, also known as Torrance Hatch, is facing legal trouble again after being hit with a federal gun charge. The charge stems from an incident in San Diego where police observed Boosie in an Instagram video with a firearm tucked into his waistband.

The initial discovery occurred while San Diego police were reviewing an Instagram video of a known gang member. They spotted Boosie in the video with what appeared to be a black handgun. Following this lead, authorities investigated Boosie’s own Instagram account and found a live story broadcast from a San Diego neighborhood known for gang activity.

Using a helicopter for surveillance, law enforcement located Boosie getting into an SUV. The vehicle was later pulled over after failing to stop at a red light. During the traffic stop, a black gun matching the description of the one in the Instagram video was found inside the car, leading to Boosie’s arrest on a state crime charge.

Although the initial state charge was dismissed, Boosie was rearrested upon leaving court and subsequently charged with the federal crime of felon in possession of a firearm. This turn of events, while surprising to some, is not uncommon in cases involving high-profile individuals.

Attorney Bradford Cohen, renowned for representing hip-hop artists such as Kodak Black and formerly YNW Melly, provided insight into the situation. Cohen explained that federal authorities often prioritize gun cases involving prominent figures like entertainers and athletes.
