Salley Carson Opens Up About Breast Implant Regret and Reversal

Former Bachelor contestant and current Southern Charm star Salley Carson is candidly discussing her decision to undergo a breast augmentation procedure and her subsequent choice to reverse it. Carson revealed on a recent episode of Southern Charm that she opted for breast implants to please her ex-fiancé, a decision she now regrets.

During a conversation with fellow newcomer Molly O’Connell, Carson admitted that she believed her ex-fiancé preferred women with larger breasts, leading her to feel insecure and ultimately pursue the surgery. “I got them when I was with my ex-fiancé,” Carson confessed to O’Connell. “I thought that’s what he liked. I just felt like I did it for the wrong reason.”

In a separate confessional, Carson clarified that while her former fiancé never explicitly requested she get breast implants, his attention toward women with different body types contributed to her insecurity. “It’s not like my ex-fiancé told me, ‘Your boobs aren’t good enough.’ He never did,” she explained. “But the girls that he was giving attention to had bigger breasts and didn’t look like I looked, and it somewhat made me insecure.” Carson further emphasized her personal growth, stating that she would now end a relationship if a partner pressured her to alter her appearance. According to the Cleveland Clinic, breast implants are typically made of silicone, saline, or silicone gel and are surgically placed inside the breast.

Carson’s co-star, Molly O’Connell, also shared her own experience with breast augmentation, opting for a fat transfer procedure. The Cleveland Clinic describes this method as using liposuction to extract fat cells from one area of the body and injecting them into the breasts to increase volume. This technique is often considered less risky than traditional implants. O’Connell humorously recounted her procedure, stating, “I got ankle and calf liposuction and then I shoved that into my boobs because I had no boobies.” She also noted receiving positive feedback on her appearance.

Carson’s tumultuous relationship with her ex-fiancé has been a recurring theme on Southern Charm and during her appearances on various Bachelor franchise shows, including Clayton Echard’s season. She has openly discussed the painful experience of calling off her wedding just weeks before it was scheduled to take place due to infidelity.

On a previous episode of Southern Charm, Carson recounted the engagement, stating, “When I was 22 years old, I got engaged. We had the big house and like, he wanted kids, and I thought that I had everything. And then, 25 days before the wedding, I got a DM that he had been cheating on me, so I canceled the wedding and moved to Charleston.” She has described the relationship as “really toxic” and emphasized her significant personal growth since that time. Carson assured viewers that she is in a “completely different place” than she was during her time on The Bachelor. Southern Charm airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
