Five-time Grammy nominee Shaboozey stars in the 2025 Nerds Super Bowl commercial, bringing his unique sound and style to a vibrant, reimagined New Orleans. The commercial features Shaboozey’s rendition of Louis Armstrong’s classic “What a Wonderful World,” adding a modern twist to the timeless song.
In the 30-second teaser, Shaboozey enjoys a bag of Nerds Gummy Clusters, and as he takes a bite, the world transforms into a colorful, Willy Wonka-esque wonderland. He leads a second-line band through the streets, showcasing the energy and excitement of New Orleans.

Shaboozey’s deep resonating tone, often compared to Armstrong’s distinct voice, made him a natural choice for covering the iconic song. He told PEOPLE, “I have this deep resonating tone, and Louis’ voice is so distinct…It just made so much sense [to cover this song].” He admitted to being in disbelief that he was chosen to sing a song featured in numerous commercials throughout his childhood.
Shaboozey explained why covering “What a Wonderful World” was a smart move: “That’s why I think it’s so cool to do a different rendition instead of taking a song that’s been used so many times…To get an artist to do their own interpretation of it was such a smart move.”

He drew parallels between “What a Wonderful World” and his own hit, “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” noting their shared uplifting feel and message of inclusivity. “’A Bar Song’ has the same uplifting feel [as ‘What a Wonderful World’] — just wanting to include everybody and make something positive,” he explains. “The Louis record, as well, does that just as far as [it] brings everyone in and just brings up the spirits and brings up the vibes of everybody.”
The choice to honor Armstrong in New Orleans, the host city of the 2025 Super Bowl, is a fitting tribute to the jazz legend. Shaboozey believes it serves as a “cool little music history lesson for the kids watching.”
