This confrontation escalated further, with the boyfriend ultimately drawing his weapon.

Fearing for his safety, Jansen’s stepfather retrieved his own firearm. In the ensuing shootout, the boyfriend was struck multiple times and critically injured. Jansen’s stepfather sustained a graze wound from one of the rounds. Adding to the chaos, two nearby vehicles, one of which reportedly had a child inside, were caught in the crossfire.
