Aware of the potential danger to restaurant patrons still inside, officers strategized on how to safely evacuate them, fearing that Williams might take hostages. “There’s got to be a back door somewhere,” one officer can be heard saying. “We just want to find the bathroom… so we can’t go in and take [the suspect].”
