The “White Parties” of Mogul Diddy
Renowned rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has made headlines for his extravagant parties dubbed “Freak Offs,” which have become notorious within the entertainment industry.
Recently, Diddy was arrested in Manhattan following charges related to sex trafficking. As the rapper faces multiple lawsuits alleging sexual abuse, details about his infamous “Freak Offs” have resurfaced, revealing shocking accounts of these lavish gatherings.
Newly released information highlights that the “Freak Offs,” which lasted several days, involved the rapper allegedly supplying large quantities of drugs to both male and female guests for sexual encounters, while he observed and reportedly engaged in self-pleasure. Questions are being raised about the true nature of the events that transpired at Diddy’s parties.
In a resurfaced 2002 interview with Conan O’Brien, Diddy shared tips for hosting captivating gatherings, noting, “Women enjoy ‘drinking water’ at parties, so if you don’t have what they need, of course, they’ll leave. You need to keep them entertained. It’s a bit strange, but you might have to lock the door.”
Who Attended Diddy’s Parties?
According to The Guardian, a more pertinent question might be, “Who didn’t attend Diddy’s parties?” From the early 2000s, many of Hollywood’s biggest stars were spotted at Diddy’s celebrations. Celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio, Sarah Jessica Parker, Martha Stewart, Jamie Foxx, Russell Simmons, Jennifer Lopez, Jay-Z, Vera Wang, and more have all been photographed at these lavish events. Diddy’s parties served not only as star-studded occasions but also as networking hotspots for the elite and affluent.
From 1998 to 2009, Diddy hosted an annual “White Party,” marked not only by a strict white dress code but also by the blending of old-money socialites from East Hampton with a new generation of hip-hop stars. In a 1999 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Diddy stated that his parties aimed to “break down racial and generational barriers.” He cited billionaire Ron Perelman conversing with Jay-Z at one of these “White Parties,” before Jay-Z became a billionaire himself. In a 2001 statement, Diddy likened himself to Gatsby from “The Great Gatsby,” asserting, “Did I read ‘The Great Gatsby’? I am Gatsby!”
The Excesses of Diddy’s Parties
These parties often commenced in the morning and stretched into the night, initially fostering a family-friendly atmosphere that later transformed into an adults-only affair. In footage collected by Daily Mail, Diddy is seen addressing the crowd, stating, “We’ve fed you and given you drinks. Now it’s time to enjoy life… Kids have one more hour to play, because after that, everything will shift to what you’ll want to be a part of when you grow up.”
Reportedly, Diddy’s events featured not only celebrities but also naked dancers and drugs. Daily Mail released photos depicting Diddy pouring champagne on nude women, while others showcased attendees like Jennifer Lopez lying on a large bed.
In a YouTube video from June 2024, Tom Swoope recounted attending a “White Party,” detailing separate areas for ordinary guests and VIPs, primarily utilized for drug use and sexual activities. A drug dealer, interviewed by the New York Post, claimed he sold cocaine to Diddy at his Hamptons home during one of these parties, stating that most illegal activities occurred in private areas where “strange things happened.” He also mentioned that many attendees used substances like ketamine and GHB.
Despite the notoriety surrounding Diddy’s parties, many celebrities have alluded to their experiences but seldom disclose specifics. Ashton Kutcher, during a 2019 appearance on “Hot Ones,” declined to share details, suggesting there were numerous untold stories. 50 Cent stated in an interview with Hollywood Reporter that he steered clear of Diddy’s gatherings due to discomfort. Khloé Kardashian referenced a Diddy party on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” recounting that many attendees were naked. Usher, once a mentee of Diddy, acknowledged learning much from him in a 2004 Rolling Stone interview but later retracted his statements in 2016, denying the parties were sexually charged while admitting the environment was “strange.”
Nevertheless, as Diddy faces a federal lawsuit that includes allegations tied to another “Freak Offs” event held at a luxurious hotel, details have emerged about participants being urged to “give it their all,” with some allegedly receiving IV fluids due to drug fatigue.
