Zoe Saldaña, the 46-year-old star of Emilia Pérez, made a stunning appearance at the Critics Choice Awards. Nominated for Best Supporting Actress, Saldaña’s red carpet arrival follows her recent Golden Globes win for the same role in the Netflix film.
Saldaña captivated onlookers in a vibrant red silk Saint Laurent gown with an open back and matching heels. A black bow accentuating the back of the dress was complemented by a black choker and dazzling diamond rings.

This bold red look contrasted sharply with the dark brown strapless sequin Saint Laurent gown and matching cape she wore at the Golden Globes, where she also sported a striking diamond necklace.
The Critics Choice Awards nominations saw Emilia Pérez tied with Dune: Part Two for the third highest number of nominations (10 each), trailing behind Conclave and Wicked (11 each). However, at the Golden Globes, Emilia Pérez, a musical-thriller, led with both nominations and wins, including Saldaña’s first-ever Golden Globe award.
Overwhelmed with emotion after her Golden Globes win, Saldaña expressed gratitude to the audience at The Beverly Hilton, saying, “I’m filled with adrenaline, but my heart is full of gratitude.” She also shared a heartfelt message to her family, adding, “I love you — you guys are everything.”
Following her victory, Saldaña humorously posted on Instagram a photo of herself in bed with her award and the winning envelope, captioning it, “And this is how we’re going to bed tonight.”

At the Critics Choice Awards, Saldaña’s acting nomination is accompanied by another for her performance in the original song “El Mal” from Emilia Pérez, shared with Karla Sofía Gascón and Camille.
However, recent controversy surrounding Gascón’s past offensive comments has cast a shadow on the celebrations. Saldaña expressed her sadness regarding the situation to Variety, stating, “I’m sad. Time and time again, that’s the word because that is the sentiment that has been living in my chest since everything happened… I’m also disappointed. I can’t speak for other people’s actions. All I can attest to is my experience, and never in a million years did I ever believe that we would be here.”
Saldaña declined to comment on whether she had spoken to Gascón since the resurfacing of the controversial posts, stating that she needs more time to process the situation. “I feel like I’ve spoken enough about it… It’s not just something we have to figure out immediately.”
The 30th annual Critics Choice Awards aired live on E! from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica and is available for streaming on Peacock.
